SPINDLES and FLYERS—Spinning for knitters

Nancy will discuss the history of spinning from prehistoric times, types of fibers and the history of their use and the earliest garments found. Spinning tools will be shown including spindles, distaffs, wool combs and carders.
She will also discuss the cultivation of fibers, the history of fiber animals and the history of the spinning wheel.
