Kathleen Dames will be talking about knitting sweaters with a focus on top-down, yokes and colorwork.
Kathleen Dames, knitwear designer, loves designing, knitting, and wearing sweaters, so much so that she created The Sweater with Kathleen Dames Podcast to help demystify sweater knitting through 12-episode seasons that lead you through knitting a sweater at your own pace. With designs inspired by everything from Jane Austen characters to the Unicorn Tapestries at the Cloisters, Kathleen focuses on creating sweaters (and the occasional accessory) that are as fun to knit as they are pretty to wear. While cables and lace served as her starting point, she has also branched out into colorwork yoke designs. In addition to her design work, Kathleen is also the co-editor of One More Row Press, which has released the knitting books I Knit New York, I Knit Paris, As the Spinnery, and most recently I Knit San Francisco. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, their three children, and George the cat.
